Joint stock company
Joint stock company (Aktiengesellschaft / AG) - a legal form only for large companies? That is completely wrong. In truth, the joint stock company is very well suited for medium-sized companies and is often clearly superior to the GmbH. It is unbeatable in the areas of competence distribution, capital procurement and succession planning. In day-to-day business, as an unlisted, so-called "small" AG, it is no more complicated to handle than an ordinary GmbH or even GmbH & Co KG. If it's so good, why isn't it more popular? Probably because too few consultants are familiar with it. And because it's hard to leave the beaten path.
